Donna Christophers, Director Hansard, who will speak about the process of editing and producing Hansard, from the spoken word to the final written record, including the challenges involved and the resources used.
Donna has worked for the Australian parliament for 33 years, including over 26 years with Hansard. Initially a Hansard editor, she then moved into Hansard management. As Director Hansard, Donna manages a team of approximately 60 staff who work in a fast-paced environment to transcribe, edit and publish the parliament’s chamber and committee transcripts.

This month’s meeting features Dr Craig McCormack AOM, who will will address us on the topic of working with First Nations Writing. In this presentation, Craig will address the complexities of working with First Nations Creators, or working on First Nations themes in your own work. Craig will include cases studies on the changing norms for working with First Nations writing over time, and will look at some of the best guidelines that currently exist.
