Partnerships

IPEd

The Institute of Professional Editors (IPEd) is a professional association with seven local branches for editors across Australia and New Zealand. CSE and IPEd partner on different projects, including mentoring and professional development. Our President and IPEd Liaison maintain regular contact with the IPEd Chair in the interests of furthering the partnership between both organisations.

CSE is also a proud supporter and sponsor of the IPEd accreditation exam. This sponsorship agreement provides CSE members with the opportunity to obtain and maintain accreditation without an active IPEd membership.

PEG

The Professional Editors Guild (PEG) in South Africa is a long-term friend of CSE. We share information and usually offer mutual discounts. PEG represents language practitioners who operate in the South African publishing industry, in corporate communications, in the media and in the academic sector. It has members across the globe. PEG member John Linnegar has visited Canberra several times and spoken with CSE members, and the late Prof. Joan Fairhurst from Johannesburg, South Africa, visited Canberra and spoke briefly at a general meeting of CSE on 26 April 2017. Joan was, at the time, the immediate past Chair of the Gauteng Branch of PEG.

MARION

MARION, formerly known as the ACT Writers Centre, has been serving and supporting writers in the region since 1995. CSE and MARION provide occasional member-only access to each other’s events and are working on developing closer ongoing relations.

Canberra bookshops

CSE members enjoy member-only discounts at select Canberra bookshops. Details can be found by signing into your account.
